You'll laugh, you'll cry..

I went to see UP! in 3D at the weekend, and it is seriously the best Disney film since Enchanted. Usually I like Disney films because of they remind me of my childhood (not long since past) but the the newer films often lack the Disney magic that made me and millions of other people love them in the first place.
For a start, they are never hand drawn anymore, everything is computerised, which to me ruins them, even if the story is good. It lacks that quality that says 'this story has been made with loving hands', and they're churned out so thick and fast for a profit it makes me feel rather unhappy.
UP!, however, is different. There's a beautiful back story introduced in the opening scenes, and I was crying within the first 10 minutes. It's a film that was made obviously for the entertainment of both parent and child, and there's so much depth and detail within it that I really just wanted to go back and watch it again even before I'd left the cinema.

In other news (haha) my Silence and Noise jumpsuit I ordered from Urban Outfitters arrived and it is sooo comfortable, it's like wearing pajamas (albeit very stylish ones). Paired with costume jewellery and a colourful jacket, I saw that it was definately a good purchase. I'm pleased, since my bank balance is ridiculously low, that there's something to make up for it.

Now I just need some new cardigans, thick wool tights (I just got some pretty amazing Calvin Klein wool patterned tights, but I need more!), a wool-knit jumper and some new pumps and maybe I'll be kitted out for the oncoming winter. Maybe...

Louis Vuitton Catwalk Highlights

Just checked out style.com for the Louis Vuitton catwalk collection for Spring 2010 and just thought I'd post my favourite pieces from the show, since it was overall such a stunning collection (a mish-mash of sport detail and army themes in cute little dresses and shorts).

I just thought that these dresses were just the most adorable things ever; and those colours! They seem like the sort of clothes you could just throw on and look effortlessly chic and yet they'd suit almost any occasion. I often think that some of the pieces in catwalk collections can be intimidating, and you could never possibly imagine yourself wearing some of the flamboyent 'costumes', even if they are beautiful creations. Louis Vuitton seems to have turned this idea on it's head to create something amazing. Maybe the colours and ideas are a little 'out there' for some of your tastes (you, my imaginary reader), but I think this is brilliance, personified. style.com

A beginning;

I write to let off some steam, and I guess this blog is the beginning of a whole new medium for me to rant on, instead of venting on unsuspecting bystanders (I really feel sorry for whoever gets in my way when I'm on a fashion war path).

Money, recently (and forever more, probably) is my main problem. I love clothes, but I can't afford the ones I want. I'm constantly wanting to wear new outfits and look different and edgy, but it's difficult when you have to wear the same things over.

I'm currently following the fashion show season (obviously) with all the new Spring 2010 coming in across the globe, and of course I've been keeping an eye on my favourite models; namely Skye Stracke. She is simply stunning, but I have to say my all time favourite catwalk photo of her at the moment is this one:

That sheer dress by A. F. Vandevorst is just the most beautiful piece of material I have ever seen (obviously a slight embellishment, but I want it so, so much for my wardrobe right now it is killing me that I just don't have that sort of money; or any money at all for that matter). I somehow managed to start browsing the Urban Outfitters website (I wonder how that happened??) and now I have a package on it's way with this in it:

I have a thing for all-in-ones. I think maybe it's a regression back into early childhood where you can just throw on something comfy and not have to worry about layering and whether things match... because that's already done for you already. I expect this to be relatively loose and comfortable and definately chic, and I cannot wait for it to arrive! Now I just need to convince myself that it was money well spent, since I've just lost £30 from my New York fund...

Anyway, enough ranting for one day, but I am definately in an impulsive mood today, otherwise I wouldn't have been so quick to 'splurge' on something relatively unessential when what I really need is thick wool tights and cardigans for a winter that is quickly progressing.
